How to Evaluate and Assess Your Connection
Before you start gaming, evaluate the quality of your connection. It is not necessary to be a tech expert. Simple online tools can do this. I utilize speed test websites such as Ookla’s Speedtest or Google’s speed test regularly. Conduct the test on the device and in the same spot you intend to play. The speed on your wired desktop in the office could be very dissimilar from the Wi-Fi signal on your tablet in the backyard. Examine three key numbers: download speed (Mbps), upload speed (Mbps), and latency/ping (ms). Contrast these results to the suggested figures I provided earlier. Run the test at different times of day, especially when you usually play, to confirm for consistency. Some networks become slower during busy evening hours.
