This problem appears most when you’re engaged but not actively clicking. I may be reviewing the paytable of a new slot game, reading tournament rules, or simply watching a long bonus animation play out. The system’s timer often sees this as pure inactivity, so it signs me out just as I’m getting ready to place my next bet. The same thing can happen if you take a short break to brew some tea or answer the door, if that break goes beyond the timeout period. These moments are small, but they point out the difficulty. Designers must make an auto-logout that’s secure enough to guard you constantly, but smart enough to determine when you’re still actively using the site.
