Choosing the Ideal Campground for You
Campsites differ greatly, and selecting badly can spoil a vacation. Families might want a site with spotless toilet blocks, a play area for kids, and maybe a small shop. If solitude is the goal, seek out a Certified Location (CL) in England or a remote, off-grid field with only a tap. We’re fortunate in the UK to have excellent networks such as National Trust and Forestry England campsites, which often drop you right in the middle of a beautiful estate. Points to evaluate are the camping surface, whether you need an electric hook-up, how close you are to excellent hiking routes, and the ambiance. Some campsites are bustling and friendly, while others enforce a silence policy once night falls.
