Combining Ritual with Safe Play
While I endorse the inventive and mental upsides of these personal traditions, I must emphasize the need for balance. A ritual should never become a notion that one can manage or assure outcomes. The moment a player assumes their prayer or action can secure a win, they’ve moved into dangerous territory. The ritual is for atmosphere, concentration, and narrative—not for modifying the unchangeable mathematics of the game.
